Renewed Focus on Auditing at IRS
According to the April 7 San Jose Mercury News article by Mark Schwanhausser, entitled "Auditing getting a boost at the IRS", there
will be signing bonuses upward of $5,000 given to highly sought-after auditors (called Revenue Agents). The IRS is seeking to get touger
on tax cheats and is looking to hire hundreds of workers to beef up its audit arm. Revenue Agents typically audit large and small business tax
returns.
If your company's 1099 documentation was audited by the IRS
or your local state employment office, is it possible that you
could incur penalties or fines?
Axiome's 1099 Audit service will help you mitigate risk.
